Description:
This mod started out as just adjustments and fixes to enhance my personal gaming experience with Doom 3. Now that I've put some time into it I thought I'd share it with everyone else.
In essence, this mod tastefully tweaks many aspects of the game to create a more challenging and immersive Doom 3 while remaining very, very faithful to the original.
Some highlights (file contains full readme):
* A balanced arsenal, giving each weapon its own role.
* Improved A.I.
* Some improved visuals (realistic blood, better bump maps, some tweaked textures, better decals and bullet impacts).
* Several bug fixes and refinements.
This was designed on VETERAN DIFFICULTY and it is recommended to be played on that. This mod is intended for experienced players.
There are still a few more things I'd like to ad, so keep and eye out for v1.1!
Fellow modders can use whatever they wish from this mod without permission or credit.

Upon it's release Doom 3 received several criticisms, the few with which I agree are:
a) the game is too easy, even on veteran difficulty.
b) the game lacks weapon diversity and balance.
c) enemy A.I. is too primitive and enemies lacks strategic diversity and balance.
Advanced D00M3 offers more challenging gameplay while remaining true to the original game.
While mostly original content, this mod does deploy some methods used by other authors.

2. place 'Advanced Doom3 v1.0' folder into C:Program FilesDoom 3
3. run Doom 3 and select "Advanced Doom3 v1.0" from the mod menu

*lost soul attack sound no longer continues to loop after the lost soul has been killed
*cacodemon burnaway delayed slightly so as not to interrupt death sound
*minor spelling correction in pda found in mars city
*email added to a pda in mars city underground containing martian buddy cabinet codes
*improved original weapon firing sounds of pistol, shotgun, machine gun, chaingun and plasma rifle
*improved bullet impact volumes
*improved bullet impact effects
*improved blood particle color
*improved textures on nearly all enemies and a couple of characters
*zombies can only be gibbed by the rocket launcher, plasma rifle, BFG, chainsaw and grenades. zombies will gib when crushed by world objects i.e. doors, lifts and trams
*shells, bullet casings and decals (aside from the plasma gun) remain 1600% longer before disappearing
