Bryce Wilson Doom 3 MOD AlleyWay

The level was created solely by Bryce of innovative animation; inoani.org. All creatures and some used props are copywite Doom3 creators and their respective affiliates.

All content is copywrite inoani.org, Bryce Wilson distribution must clearly state my name and URL accomplanying the level mod. No privledge is given to modify, publish, or alter the contents of this mod unless expressed written consent is given prior. This is not consent for free distribution or otherwise only notice that posting my mod for others to view and download to play. Posting this mod for any other reason than to distribute it as a mod created by myself is not permitted.

INSTALL

1. unzip the downloaded file.
2. Place the AlleyWay.pk4 in the base directory of Doom3 (i.e. D:\Program Files\Doom3\base)
3. Unzip all of the files named (i.e. AlleyWaymp.map, AlleyWaysp.proc. etc.) in the the maps folder within the zip file
4. Place them into a folder called AlleyWay in the Doom 3> base> maps folder
3. Launch Doom3

To play the game in single player mode :

1. Bring up the console by pressing CNTRL + ALT + ~
2. Type map alleyway/alleywaysp
NOTE : You can also bring up the multiplayer version by typing in alleywaymp instead

To play a multiplayer game online

1. Make sure anyone you are trying to play with also has the mod properly installed
2. One person can setup a dedicated server by selecting that option in the MULTIPLAYER screen
3. Follow the instructions by simply seting up your prefered options for the game (6-8 players prefered)
4. Everyone else can just search for your game setup join and play

this works:
map game/alleywaysp

shows great promise and so different to other sp doom3 maps out atm. But it's often too dark and some of the mapping is a little dodgy - i used noclip once. Framerate seems quite low too..?

All in all, great and i wanna see this improved and better. Also, make more maps! smile

Agree with Striderdm1. Creepy atmosphere, A little dark and the FPS drops in some areas. Also easy to get lost. Very nice textures and design though.

pretty effect in the sky, with the sounds of the thunder you obtained a good ambientación smile

~~ I realize this was primarily made for MP, but, in terms of SP, a couple questions.

~~ I got the ChainSaw guys, the Imps, the ChainGun Commando, the Snufflufugus with the hand-rockets, the Hell-Knight, the sneaky spiders (including the one in the 4th-story duct, the varied Zombies, AND explored the ductworks, the sewer, the tunnels, the high-above rickety board paths, and too many red-herring dead-ends (probably useful in MP I gather)...but...

~~ There's a room in the beginning bldg with a couple doors that're locked, with no way in from above or below. Are they 'under construction', or am I missing something?

~~ There's an apparent other-side-of-the-ground-level-fence that seems accessable by jumping off a roof and over, but...am I missing something?

~~ Wiped out all enemies ('token' that they were)...except one Zombie on the other side of a fence in the small 'L'-shaped sewer. Is there a way to that area, or...am I missing something?

~~ The screen-shots shown for the game show one that's a schematic-map of the whole layout. Is this something one can find IN the game, or, am I missing something?

~~ Given that it's MP-oriented, I'd guess that there's no use for an 'Exit', but, in terms of SP-use, above questions make it difficult to know when one's...done.

It's looking pretty good. The Framerate was OK(for a custom map). But I don't really think it would function as a MP map, too many dead ends and vents(of course they are fun to creep in, but who would bother??? )

I'm not saying this is a bad effort, but for me Doom 3 was always single player orientated, so an actual plot and an end/exit to the map would really make a change.

Thank you for taking the time to comment on my mod, much appreciated.

The level was designed as a multiplayer mod so initially I never intended on creating an 'ending' to the level for someone wanting to try out the level with enemies.

The thought behind all of the vents and access ways was to create a constant state of chaos as your enemies could sneak up behind you at any moment.

If I was going to create a single player experience the design behind the level would have turned out a lot different. I would have wanted to setup the level so that I lead the character more to their objective.

...and yes the zombie behind the fence was put there just so you could not shoot it.
