Description:

Maha_x is back and he has not shown up empty handed....He brings, for your Doom3 gaming enjoyment, what he refers to as a YABM, which, if you haven't guessed it, stands for: Yet Another Bloom Mod. The update to this mod is a simple one, the most important aspect is that it is reworked to be compatible with the latest patch release: Patch v1.3.1

Some of the tweaks include:

HDR style shifting sensitivity (not quite the same tough)
Blooms only on very bright surfaces and reduces the foggy feel

	Readme File: ================= Brilliant bloom ================= first release, updated for Doom 3 v.1.3.1 What is it? ----------- It's a yabm! (yet another bloom mod). Here's what's different: - HDR style shifting sensitivity (not quite the same tough) - Blooms only on very bright surfaces and reduces the foggy feel Requirements? ------------- ARB 2.0 graphics card, that's basicly directX9 hardware Doom 3 patched to version 1.3.1 How to install? --------------- Unpack to a folder under doom3 directory. Access via the mods menu. Console commands? ----------------- z_bloom (0, 1) Disable/enable bloom z_bloomBufferSize (0 .. 4) Size of the buffer used for the bloom, this hits performance and image quality the most. On my Geforce 6800GT the mode 2 runs well but mode 3 looks cooler 0 = 64x32, 1 = 128x64, 2 = 256x128, 3 = 512x256, 4 = 1024x512 z_bloomIterations (1 .. inf.) number of times the blur filter is applied to the bloom. This directly affects the size of the bloom clouds. Values in the range of 4 to 16 should be usefull Bugs? ----- The shotgun is very reflective and tends to get overly bloomed occationally. There's also been some cases where the sens.shifting gets stuck with very large bloom buffers... Holy sh*t! A bloom mod that's actually TASTEFUL!

Mind = blown.

Ima port this over to DentonMod 3, perhaps as an alterante bloom method or something.

DX10? Doom is OpenGL 2.0. o_O

If you have a GeForce 8 you can use a couple interesting new feature additions in some of the shader programs out there, notably centroid sampling. It doesn't make a *huge* difference but it does get rid of some kinds of texture aliasing. This isn't a DX10 feature, however, as it's been available in DX9/SM2.0 since pretty much forever.

Unfortunately ATi has craptastic OpenGL support and as such doesn't support certain extensions made to OpenGL's ARB shading language. Sorry guys.

i´m using a ati radeon xpress 1150 310mb 401 hybermemory and i have 1gb of ram and vista 32 can i use this mod in doom 3? any other bloom is not working on me, plz reply
