Description:
To provide the best gaming experience possible to the Doom III community, Dafama2K7 has once again updated an older (and probably forgotten about) mod from the past! I once compared him to the Energizer Bunny, he just keeps going and going and going...(you get the idea) , and it would appear that that description still holds true! smile This time, he has improved upon this popular Doom3 mod, last made available by port66 in 2004, and has supplied it here to the masses!

And now, what you've all been waiting for...We have here, for your immediate D3 enjoyment, an update to the D3 mod: Cold Breath (0.6)! This mod makes several adjustments to your stock version of D3, such as: player, sounds, weapons, monsters and a few graphics elements. Its ultimate goal being "to make doom feel more like doom."

Cold Breath (v0.7 | Full) comes with a whole plethora of changes, and guarantees to increase the fun-factor of your Doom III gaming experience!
    Some of these changes include:
    • Made the console transparent for a good looking touch.
    • Added paths for official MP maps, so the npc can use them.
    • Enhanced Plasma, BFG, Grenade and RocketLauncher weapons.
    • Added Predator ChainGun weapon.
    • Better texture models for many weapons.
    • Enhanced skins for some zombies.
    • Better sounds for official level Hell map.
    • Enhanced a little A.I. for all kind of Demons and ZSecs.
    • Increased fire rate a little on shotgun.
    • Increased damage a little on MG, SG, CG, PG and BFG.

    Some of the fies made in this version include:
    • Fixed old bug with monsters sounds.
    • Updated materials; Better muzzleflash on the weapons, all flashlights casts shadows.
    • Updated FX; Enhanced muzzleflashes, better spawn teleports used by most demons.
    • Fixed unrealistic Shotgun weapon, so now reloads shells one by one.

This is not something that you download, start-up, check your weapons, and run through like a holy terror blowing the crap out of anything that looks at you...you need to take your time, enjoy the effects and the ambiance! Play this mod as if you are really there...

attacks and player weapons.
Exchanged Model Detonate between HandGrenade and RocketLauncher.
Added new red plasmatrail to the Mancubus demon.

New in v0.6 :

Put back in pistol and machine gun decals.
Most of everything but the sound, has add a clean up, so its a more pro mod.
Fixed new teleports - stopped working in v0.5.

i just tried this on alpha labs 3
all i can say is that the smoke effects dont work for me when i fire the chaingun or the plasmagun i get a huge square of whits/black so i cant see nothing !!confused

Hi Monk00, i updated this mod mostly than others and may have leaved a bug on it, but i will fix that in a hurry. smile

@Monk00 - Please, can you open the .pk4 file of this mod that is into the mod folder with some program like winZIP or winRAR and enter into the textures folder, then you will see a folder named particles, well, you just have to remove this folder, selecting it and pressing del key you will be able to do it.

Try it and tell me if the mod runs fine for you from now, ok.

Until i post another updated and fixed version (that i have already uploading...), we can play this game by entering into the mod folder and open the .pk4 file with winRAR or winZIP or similar programs then go into the particles folder and remove the old bugged weapons.prt.

Sorry for the inconveniences, but now this has already been solved for the next release.

i deletled the weapon file in particles and it works now thx
i forgot to say before the flashlight doesn't work and the soldiers damage is crazy about 10 hits one of them took
its says in changes that u "Added Predator ChainGun weapon." in which way the sound it gives off is different but the model / skin of the gun looks the same

This and most other things have now been fixed in the upcoming v0.7.1 updated full new release.

As to the Predator Chaingun, i only said this because this weapon don't stop rotating while you press the fire button like in the Predator movie, i have not made any new skin or model, i am a programmer not a 3D modeler, i have not talent or skills to try to do this, really, but i know some people that are making a new mod that will include new good models. When it's done, of course. smile

@adama_1a - Do this to solve this problem until the new updated & fixed v0.7.1 full is not released....:

1- Go to the Cold Breath mod folder.

2- Open the .pk4 file with some program like winZip or winRAR (a .pk4 file is in fact a .zip file renamed to .pk4 !).

3- Go to the script directory inside the .pk4 file and edit the file named weapon_flashlight.script with your preferred ascii text editor.

4- Find the line 19, you will see something like this...:

float global_flashlight_intensity = 0.8;

Deactivate the line 19 converting it into a comment doing this...:

//float global_flashlight_intensity = 0.8;

5- Save the file normally as an ascii text file.

6- Run the Cold Breath mod and tell me if it runs fine now. smile

Mod Developers really should play their mods and test them out for bugs before releasing them... But anywho, sounds pretty interesting mod.

I wanted to release a quickly update & fix for this mod by Port66, but i also added other new bugs myself and i was to go to my work and wasn't test it before uploading, so it was my fault. frown

Well, i have uploaded a new fixed & updated version that at least does not contain this new bugs introduced by me. Roll Eyes (sarcastic)
