Cool Shaders v1.1 for Doom 3, ROE, Quake 4 and Prey.






Description...:


Some day i was testing my latest shaders and trying to find new features that i can
use on them, when i was tweaking the original test.vfp i was found a very good
reflection feature, the original shaders was broken and made for Q4 or Prey, not
really usable with D3 without changing a couple of lines, i was do it and when i
was finally able to run my D3 with that fixed test.vfp shader i was seen an
awesome specular and reflections very, very enhanced and pushed up !!!

So, work started on new shaders pack called 'Cools shaders' mod.





Note !...:


Cool Shaders require an ATI or NVidia gfx card with OpenGL v2.0 or higher.



Installation...:


Drag & drop the mod folder to root directory of the game. (Remove it to uninstall.)

Try the kp_slash key to select what shader is used to your taste. (Default is the
ATI/Generic one.)

History...:


v1.1 - Public release.


- SpecExp is now slightly upped from 3 to 4 for maximum but real nice reflections.

- Fixed a little bug introduced when NG was converted into Cool shaders.

- Removed all my custom Autoexec.cfg files for easy of use of this mod.


v1.0 - First Internal release.


- Based on latest NG shaders release, this shaders now exports new reflection feature that i was found on original test.vfp, the original shader file was distributed on every D3 copy but as an alternate broken and not for D3 state, in fact only may run on Q4 or Prey, without changing one line before trying it on D3. Well, the fact is that even that it was broken, it contains a very good and much better reflection implementation that the half angle feature i was using on most of my latest shaders since version one.

- Cool shaders was born with my own custom updated reflection feature based on the test.vfp orginal shader, but mixing it with my custom half angle instead of pure specular and this shaders mod was made.

- Full Parallax support thanks to NG heritage.

- Two version, one is interaction.vfp for generic/ATI gfx cards use and another, test.vfp for custom special NVidia version, much faster, used when r_testARBProgram cvar is set to 1.

Dafama, will ya start trying some graphical mods for Wolfenstein or if it will even work smile well, i belive it wont work cuz there is no mod menu at start frown

I will NOT steal nothing from nowhere, never, ever.

Also, i recommend to everyone to ignore the voting system as i can see that always show 1 even if the mod creator spends many time working on it and going crazy after many hours trying to do something, only finally to see your works as voted 1 when posted.

I want to let know to all D3 & Q4 users following my works that i am currently working on many new mods and shaders for this two games, specially D3 & ROE, for instance i have found one important bug in this BHM shaders and the latest Cool NG shaders released also a couple of days before...:

1- This bug makes the Parallax support on my latest two shaders stated before to NOT work correctly with Parallax textures, so it is not usable for Parallax yet.

2- The shaders works 100%, the only bug is Parallax not working, but the other features work perfectly well.

3- I am currently working on fixing this Parallax bug to this and to all my latest shaders, it's my first priority now, and then send it here on d3filefront to post it as soon as i can.

4- When this is done and published i will again work on my mods to add better, more realistic weapons behaviour and finally enhance the A.I. to make it a challenge !


Update !...: Now, the Parallax bug is fixed, i found it, a three line problem with localNormal, wait for a full update today or tomorrow with new features added, like a Wolfenstein look alike added to my latest shaders, i was jealous of the good Wolfy new look...
