Description:
You ask...Dafama2K7 delivers!

What do you get when you take some hard work, combine it with dedication, and toss in some community spirit? You get D3 Alpha ROE (v1.2)!

For those of you just tuning in, this is the D3 Alpha Mod (v1.2) reworked for you D3: Ressurection of Evil lovers! This mod is for anyone that enjoys Doom3, but want a little more out of the experience; Once D3 Alpha is installed, among all the other changes, you'll begin to notice that some sounds and textures have been changed, and could be considered better then the stock 'Doom3: RoE' version.

Some features found in this download include:
  • Textures
  • Sounds
  • guis
  • And more

    Some changes include:
  • Some of the SP maps changed to feel similar to the E3 demo
  • Some monsters have been switched in the maps
  • New, more agressive A.I. for jumping Demons
  • Many bug fixes

    Dafama2K7 has worked long and hard to provide the latest version of this mod to the Doom 3 community, which is chalk ram full of Doom goodness and some serious good time-adventures! ...But don't rely on the spoken word, download it and find out for yourself!

    Version History...:

    v1.2 ROE full release.

    The same but for ROE, i have to say this version has surprissed me, it's very good !

    New, more agressive A.I. for jumping Demons !

    v1.2 update

    Many bug fixes.

    Some SP maps changed to feel similar to the E3 demo, and some monsters exchanged in this maps,
    try going into some bathroom !

    New, more agressive A.I. for jumping Demons !

    v1.1 update

    Fixed missing .def files damage.def and moveables.def.

    Fixed monsters, thud sounds & removed old bad .md5xxx anims !

    I have now fixed black boxes, make use of more things from E ...and... 3

    Fixed melee & thud zombies sounds.

    Better use of the textures of some new models.

    More E3 sounds used.

    Better Particles, fx, materials...



    v1.0 First release

    I have still to fix the black doors.

    I have still to fix some sounds, guis and textures, make more E3 like things...

    I have to put some better A.I., but keeping the feeling of E3 release.







    This is a mod that contains textures, sounds & from varied resources & another mods, try it, it's big, but it is worth every bit of it, sure !!!

    Many sounds and textures are much better than original Doom 3, not all, but in next versions i will update and fix any bug or bad sound, texture or gui...

    I personally think that for some reason D3 seems even more playable, it is like playing the E3 2003/4 official video but on modern Doom 3, try it and tell me, what you think...

    Thanx Id software for making this number one game !!!





    Intallation...:

    Easy as 1,2,3, only drop the d3_alpha folder into Doom 3 folder, NOT base and start Doom 3, select d3_alpha from the mods list and your ready !!!

    This mod needs the next command to be activated first, from the doomconfig.cfg or autoexec.cfg better...:

    set image_usePrecompressedTextures 0

    To be able to see the textures has to be "0", ok !!!

    I have already made this in the configs, but to be sure i let anyone know this !!!

    If enabled from console then has to restart the video doing this...:

    vid_Restart

    That's all !





    Warning !!!...:

    This mod requieres always to be set the "image_usePrecompressedTextures" to "0" in the Doomconfig.cfg or better in the autoexec.cfg, included, but i tell you just to be sure, because the better textures only can be seen using this command, and then make vid_restart !

    If you can view the weapons and monsters and some map and objects textures different then all is ok !!!




    Note...:

    This mod doesn't need any patch or update, but better you have at least Doom 3 v1.3.0 or higher installed !





    Mmmmhhh, boy, gnnnngghhhiii ahhh, uh, oh (zombie language ;-)) !!!

    when i loaded the mod it gave me an error concerning the cfg. file

    The error that stops the mod for you are that line 4: Unknown event ASIN.

    This happens NOT because a bug, but because you are trying to run this mod with vanilla Doom 3.

    You need Doom 3 eXPansion Resurrection of Evil (ROE) D3XP to be able to run this mod.

    Run the ROE link and then select the D3_Alpha_ROE mod from the list of mods.

    Or you can do this from console...:

    set fs_game_base d3xp

    set fs_game d3_alpha_roe

    reloadEngine

    Wait a little and if you realyy have the ROE eXPansion you then be able to run this ROE only mod.

    First open the file named zzd3_alpha.pk4 and into the guis folder there is one file named cursor.gui.bak, simply rename to cursor.gui or create in the mod folder a folder named guis and then unzip the cursor.gui.bak inside and finally rename that file to cursor.gui, that's all folks.

    maby were getting this problem because maby u forgot to place somthing in the pk4's er something similar.
    <<<just a therory...

    and maby u cant find the error cause ur puter alrdy has the file (that maby u missed to place in the pk4's or in the folder) and wont be able to recreate it....

    I will try to recreate the same, without any extra file in my base and d3xp folders.

    Also what patch are using v1.3.1 or v1.3.0 ?

    But, anyway i think my mod is compatible with both versions.

    What do you mean vanilla Doom 3? I have the registered version of ROE and I still get the same error . I launch D3xp from my desktop and go to mods and pick yours and still get this error.

    Can someone tell me if someone has been able to run the mod ???

    Please, it's important, because i doesn't have any problem with this mod in my D3 !

    Also, i want to say to all users that i have not do it the amount of work normally i do in Doom 3 mods because i am ill and i can't do all things i do because i have pain, but when i can i will return like always, i need two or three weeks, please understand.

    But i will try to fix this problem.

    I will also fix the sounds of pistol, machinegun and shotgun to be exactly like in E3 !

    And also i will make all different doors sound like the different doors of E3 !

    well i just reinstalled Roe after ALL my problems (long story, dont ask hehe)
    anyhow i seriously doubt this mod has "serious issues" as someone said, if theres ONE person around here who can program, it IS Dafama ! big grin

    Specially the pistol, shotgun and Machinegun ones to be like E3, this is really needed, i know !

    And also i will update the sounds for the Chaingun weapon, i think the actual sound of this weapon in all my mods is too soft, too bass, i want a more ratatatataaa... sounds !!!

    Also i will add the weapon_Flamethrower and the Double_Shotgun.
    The ChainSaw will have the red light color with dynamic shadows and the idle anim sound lowered a little.

    Also i will add all A.I. features of the D3NewAI mod. (This is almost done in the actual versions.)

    I will add better sounds for some weapons and a copuple of bug fixes.

    And many other things for the D3_Alpha mod update v1.3 for both base & d3xp.

    This .zip file contains the glprogs folder that you can drag on some mod or base/d3xp folders and try it, also contains another modified best shaders, simply rename the interactionxxx.vfp to interaction.vfp to try another shader.

    Removed the Alpha skin for the Shotgun until someone can convert the Alpha model.

    NEW very enhanced shaders and gfx for Alpha.

    Fixed a very bad bug that freeze the game on SP levels Hell1 and Delta5 when trying to change to a non existant weapon !

    More aggressive and faster A.I., you will be terrified.

    And many other things i don't remember ;-)

    Your mod doesn't work, you need to troubleshoot it so that it works on other machines. I have ROE and I have used all the commands you say will run it. Fix it!

    Sorry, The v1.52 has many bugs.

    Some maps include a new Zsec_Plasmagun zombie that i haven't included the .def (you can take this .def from some of my mods, like Unpredictable or D3_intheDark), anyway, it is now fixed and i will release a new v1.3 very soon for both base & d3xp, that will contain many new features including white smoke particles for many weapons and explosions, like in E3 and other interesting features !!!

    There is a folder named script into the mod's folder that contains a file named doom_main.script that it's older than the same file contained in the .pk4, to fix the Vulgar and other problems, just remove this file...:

    d3_Alpha_roe/script/doom_main.script

    Hello again Dafama2k7 i have renamed the cursor and modfied the doomconfig.cfg: image_usePrecompressedTextures "1" to image_usePrecompressedTextures "0" and modified this doomconfig1.cfg same thing: image_usePrecompressedTextures "1" to image_usePrecompressedTextures "0".
    And removed/delete this file: doom_main.script.
    And he giving me this: Doom 3 ROE.exe has encounted a problem and needs to close we are sorry for the incovenience. Please tell to microsoft about this problem.etc Send error problem or don't send. Maybe you know this error. What can I do ? pls help me. Giving me this error wothout your update d3_alpha_roe_update and without the small update. PLS HELPfrown

    For both D3 & ROE, with bug fixes, innovative features and less FPS killing, better gfx and many other things, but are a BIG size updates...
