Doom3 Scripter (v1.0 Beta) - File Description  


Description:
Having trouble making your own levels in Doom3? Wish there was some help out there for you to take advantage of? Then you're in luck...we have for you, a handy utility created by Ajm113 that will get you on the fast track of creating your own Doom3 level scripts.

Once the download is complete, you will be able to create Doom3 Level Scripts within minutes with the code already built inside for you to use just by a click of a button or key. This scripter is pretty useful for beginners at Doom3 Scripting or want to learn it pretty fast. All what the command does when you hover over a command will appear in your status bar so you don't always have to keep looking in your doom_events file.

The developer has stated that this scripter will work with winXP and above, other Operating Systems have not been tested. As this is a beta version, some bugs are to be expected, and present...if you come across one and want to report it, or just want to contact the developer, you can do so here.

Some tips have also been made available, such as:
  • Remember to add in ";" at the end of every command instead of the end of every thread.
  • Some dialogs mite say "Do not add $ in front of your entity's name!" The program will automatically print out the $ for you then your entity's name. So there is no need to do that not unless you want $$entityname.
  • Always keep entitys in your level have diffrent names so no errors pop up.
  • Always save your script when you are done!

    #Tip1
    Always rember to not to add void when you have your trigger "call" or relay "call" a event in your script!
    #Tip 2
    Never put any entitys like lights out side your level!
    #tip3
    Remeber to add in ";" at the end of every command instead of the end of every thread.

    Keep atleast 5 spaces by hitting the space bar or just press tab befor the command!

    #tip6
    Threading is a good way to use if you want to save a speacial "event" when a player touches a trigger. Like a boss level or a demon spawning event.

    If so, you can make various func_damage's at the damage scale you want. then, using scripts, bind/unbind them & move then instantly to the mover. It's a trick but it should work great.

    Can you also do the same for Quake IV and maybe Prey, but i hope Doom 3 Scripter is first priority always !

    Very happy to see this kinds of tools for D3, this will help a lot !

    good stuff. I just started learning scripting yeasterday and after over 10 HOURS
    of work i now know most aspects of scripting. And a tool like this could prove usefullRock
