Description:
Doom 3 Evolution is a Single-Player Game-Play Conversion Mod. It is meant to be played with original Doom 3 storyline/levels. The main features of this mod are it's original Class and Skill system, as well as Weapon and Augment upgrade system. In a couple of words- this mod will give Doom 3 the depth it deserves, by introducing various new tools and skills, and a great variety of possible characters.

Requirements:

- Doom 3 installed and patched to v1.3.1

How to install and run this mod:

- Extract the zip file (using winzip or Winrar) in you Doom3 base folder.
- Run the mod by the file D3Evolution.bat in your Doom 3 folder. Alternatively, you can
run regular Doom 3 and select D3Evo from your mod list.

D3Evolution is a gameplay-altering modification for Doom 3. You can now choose from a selection of active implants, permanent augments and three stat altering marine careers.

- Most weapons have two or more fire modes, and do random damage. The reload key now switches between fireing modes.
- You can pick up moveable items with the Use 'weapon'.
- Some of your weapons will use the same energy source as some implants.
- Zombies now drop a toolbox with a small ammount of some ammo.
- You won't be able to carry the Machinegun, Rocket Launcher and Flashlight.
- The pistol doubles as a flashlight.
- Ammo throught the game has been changed to accomodate the new skills.
- Other changes.
v0.6
- Added a .bat file. Can run the game directly now.
- Fixed and improved slightly the mc_utility map.
- Plasmagun heats up after 6 shots, leading to a reload anim. SpecOps, halves heat gain.
- Plasmagun lost all it's alt fire modes. Only pistol and shotgun have alt fire modes now.
- Most weapons can now be upgraded. Upgrades are received only through class choice, except for the chainsaw. It has 5 levels and can be upgraded by picking up other chainsaws.
- You will have a propper (hud) indication of changing a weapon mode, heat gain (plasmagun exclusive), and weapon level.
- Military engineer now does double shotgun damage.
- Heavy Weapons Support now does double chaingun damage, and is much more precise with it.
- Special Operations now does +25% damage with plasmagun and BFG, is more precise with the plasmagun, and plasmagun heats up two times slower slower.

- Fixed and improved slightly the mc_utility map.
- HUD will now show weapon additional information.
- HUD now shows implant, agments, class and tools information.
- Added a tutorial map for the mod. Access it through the main menu.
- Completely rearanged the skill and class systems.
- Added the Tool Belt.
- Two tools for the Military Engineering Class.
v0.9
- Zsec now drop appropriate looking ammo.
- Moved most of my augment and class variables and checks in the ai_player script.
- At the point in the game where your weapons are removed from you, you will retain your plasma gun and BFG, if you have one.
- Decreased some weapons damage drastically, others received a boost.
- Blanced the ammount of Junk and Energy you find in the maps.
- Finished the intro, mc_utility and tut maps.
- Removed slowmotion on the pistol. Added a closing in camera for the chaingun. When you fire the camera is slightly moved forward.
- Added one of Sikkpin's technical tests. The game now has cool postprocess special effects like bloom and motion blur.
- Added a much wider variety of items you can pick up as junk.
- Fixed dozens of bugs.

- Added more options in the Advanced Options sub-menu in Main Menu.

CRAP, every time i try to run it the damn thing crashs , can u help this looks sweeeet but it doesnt work for me !!!!!

doomsta27, does the game crash when you reach the main menu ( in the begining ), or when you start a new/load game. If you crash on entering the main menu then try deleting the mod directory and then install the mod again. If it is the second - try lowering the graphic options in Advanced Options sub-menu.

Ive downloaded the mod, and my doom3 is updated to the latest patch but when i try to run doom3evo it always just comes up as a regular doom3 game and i cannot play the mod

This is a bit of a longshot, but did you try running the game through the mod button in the bottom. If that isn't the problem then try reinstalling the mod as explained in the readme.

I just noticed something. Doom 3 base folder does not mean the "base" folder. Unzip the mod in the "Doom 3" folder. I appologise for this mistake.

Am not sure if the mod will work with older versions, if someone wishes to give it a shot and comment back I'll appreciate it.

There is no way to reload most your guns because I'm using the "Reload" key for a "Fire Mode" switch. That is one of the flaws in this version that I aim to fix in future ones.

The hacking game is very simple really. All you have to do is follow the colour of the text under "DATAFLOW". When the text is green you will crack any node, when it is red you will fail and the node will be unuseable untill you reset the minigame. Your aim is to have three neighbouring green nodes- when that happens you win and the cabinet opens.

In fact I'm working on a second revision of Doom3Evolution at the moment, it will fix most, if not all, problems with the first one and add tons of new features. Again- follow the link for more info.
