Description:
Hi everyone, this is my first attempt at mapping. It is a series of rooms, getting progressively more difficult. The objective is to find the entrance to hell and then fight and defeat the cyberdemon. The challange is steep but it can be done with planning. These are simple boxy rooms, no fancy patch meshes or scripts used. I have lots to learn.

I have used the Shambler monster made by Henk Bernhardt (Obi-Wan) and full credits to him for this amazing monster. I have also used the classic cyberdemon mode by Brian Wiener and full credits to him for getting old classic boss back.

There are total of 9 rooms/maps. I have used vis portals in the large map but is still has low frame rates. some maps I had to use the caulk box to stop the leaks as I couldn't fix the leak. Some use of childish textures (lava and hells bloody textures) for sky and ceiling / floor.

I am really looking forward to feedback as I want to get better at this and make maps in the likes of t-lab, sigma core etc.

Installation: Just put the 'entrance_to_hell.pk4' file in the base folder and type map freaky_room to get started.

I have tried to fix all the texture z-fighting issues I could and the lighting as best as I could.

#1 - Why the hell not? How will you know if ti is any good or not? Its not like you can play an sp map online to test it!

I guess the gameplay is good..
But the TEXTURES! OHHH THE TEXTURES!!
Please fix them.

I just played, and wo, it's too hard, especially with the part with all the z-secs in the different rooms.

Thanks for the feedback guys, this really helps and motivates me to do better next time. I am studying the doom 3 and ROE and some good maps (T-lab, sigma core, beta labs ) to learn camera, scripts, chained events and better texture usage.

dude, wtf is that m*****ive blue creature at the very last screenshot? I thought it was a hellknight but it isn't....
I'm so confused.

That's a shambler. (remake of the monster from quake). It's a hellknight which has been edited to become this new creature. It throws blueish white electrical charge. Henk (Obi-Wan) made 2 kinds; shambler and shambler dark and both are in my maps
