Grenade Toggle (Update) (1.1) - File Description

Description:
GToggle is a small mod for Doom 3, which allows grenades to be toggled on and
off like the flashlight.

Basically, I tend to use grenades very sparingly, and I didn't like having to
hunt for a weapon key after I threw a 'nade or two. In my opinion, the default
behavior of not toggling, with grenades, is a bug, one that I hope Id fixes;
either by just defaulting the setting to on, adding cvars so that players can
customize freely without a mod, or better yet, cvars and an ingame menu.
(Perhaps part of a weapon priority menu?)
In any case, there's nothing I'd like to see more than this mod being made
obsolete by Id. big grin

This mod works with version 1.0.1262 (The version on the CDs) of Doom 3.
It may or may not work (properly) with later versions.

 #1 - Why? - Posted by: Lavagasm (Member) on 08-06-2004 at 10:53
Why would someone need this? You already have grenade toggling, the "6" key does it. Don't you read manuals?

 #2 - Nevermind, - Posted by: Lavagasm (Member) on 08-06-2004 at 10:55
I see what you mean, that is a good idea...

 #3 - Posted by: Guest (12.42.184.100) on 08-06-2004 at 20:31
yup, this mod is a total waste of time
try using your brain next time, better yet, don't mod anymore

 #4 - Maybe not useless at all ? - Posted by: Guest (1m.xs4all.nl) on 08-07-2004 at 02:52
Just maybe this mod isn't useless at all.

The 6 key is a SWITCH key, it switches to grenades.

When i want a grenade toggled, i expect it, that when i hit the toggle key again, it'll switch to my previous weapen that i used.
When you hit 6, and 6 again, you'll still have the grenades !! <-- not a toggle.

Maybe You should think, before snapping at others Lavagasm. If the mod doesn't do what it's suppose to, then maybe, but it states clealy, toggle, like the flashlight.
Only problem i see here, is that the creator doesn't say forehand, wich key he used as the toggle key, but hey, shouldn't be anything else then "G"

Regards, E.

#5 - Maybe you should shut the ***** up... - Posted by: Lavagasm (Member) on 08-07-2004 at 07:23

#6 - remamber the RULES - Posted by: dedmage (Member) on 08-19-2004 at 01:43
Please re-read rules 4 & 5 toward the bottom of this page. Then read your previous response. Over-react much? If your gonna post, why not stay civil? big grin

 #7 - hmmmmm - Posted by: roryos (Member) on 07-19-2007 at 17:51
I actually think this mod is a pretty good idea, makes it much easier rather than having to scroll back through all your weapons to get back to what you were using before.

also if you have the grenades binded to a mouse button, say if you have a mouse with extra buttons that seem pointless, it makes it really lazy to switch to grenades and back, and i like that stick out tonguestick out tongue Beer! Beer!

I think it's a great idea. With most of us getting used to games like Gears of War and Halo that have a universal Grenade Throw button, it really makes the old school "Stand alone weapon" grenade type obsolete. I only used grenades when I was exiting a vent or just after opening a door, I got plenty of them and rarely use them other wise, so a toggle should make blowing stuff up much more easier.
