MaxGfx (v1.3 | update) - File Description  


Description:
Always looking to improve your Doom3 gaming experience, Dafama2K7 has returned with an updated version of the MaxGfx modification. Based on the Maximum Graphics mod by Sinot, this download will maximize your Doom3 gaming experience and tweak out the graphics! For those of you that have not heard of or tried this modification before, Sinot has looked for a long time for a modification that would provide the best visuals/sound/gameplay for this game, after a fruitless search, he decided to create on himself! He states that he has tested nearly all of the D3 mods released at the time and picked the best to create the ultimate Doom3 modification ever. You can see the list of mods in the readme.
    Some of the original features include:
    • The Weapons have the best textures you've ever seen
    • All Weapons have got Real Metal FX Effect. (Incredible)
    • The plasmaball morphs the world around on impact
    • Metal and bottom reflects the Lights
    • Parallax Mapping for better looking
    • Realistic Weapon Sounds and lights
    • Bloom Shader

    Some changes/fixes in this version include:
  • Updated Parallax shaders with NG version ! (beyond the limits !)
  • Updated Def and Script files, now more complete.
  • Lowered r_lightScale to 2.0 (def.), because using Bloom is not needed to have it at 3.0
  • Bettered the flashlights.
  • Converted .TGA to .DDS local files for Parallax, so now it requires less powerful gfx cards.

Description: i was lookig a long time for a modification which contains the best visual,
sound, gameplay effects for the game, but i didn't find it! so i decided to make it by myself.
I've tested nearly every mod which was published and took the best in my opinion together.
This is the result of it.

Some of it's new features...:


v1.3 update by DFM.

-Updated Parallax shaders with NG version ! (beyond the limits !)
-Updated Def and Script files, now more complete.
-Lowered r_lightScale to 2.0 (def.), because using Bloom is not needed to have it at 3.0
-Bettered the flashlights.
-Converted .TGA to .DDS local files for Parallax, so now it requires less powerful gfx cards.

v1.2 update by DFM.

-Balanced weapons damages for player and some ZSecs.

-Changed some Zombies heads and skins.

-Lowered the exagerated white on weapon chainsaw.

-Now it really uses the Parallax shaders !!!

-Lowered a little the plasma fire sounds.

-Fixed zombie Bernie and main_flashlight lights.

v1.1 update by DFM.

-Fixed some bugs.

-Added new muzzleflash effect for all weapons F.E.A.R. alike !

-All flashlight mounted weapons can be toggled ON/OFF with the weapon_flashlight reload key.

-Way better shaders up to date for both NVidia & ATI gfx cards (selectable pressing the KeyPad / key -KP_SLASH- that makes toggling the r_testARBProgram cvar to control the shaders) !

-Added better fx & particles.

-All teleport spawn effects breakes the glasses and kicks the objects !

-Fixed weapons scripts.

-Added better A.I. for monsters and zombies.

-Also this mod uses Bloom .dll library so it will need to be used from D3 v1.3.0 patch, not v1.3.1, so it will continue to be compatible for v1.3.0 patch like always, ok.

-Needs D3 patched to v1.3.0, NOT v1.3.1, to use it with patch v1.3.1 remove the gamex86.dll from the mod folder and in all the .pk4 files on that mod folder.

=====Installation!=====

Copy the files into the Doom 3 directory and start the game over the shortcut.

Dont forget to set the Doom 3 path and ultra quality after you started 3mood.

The mod will automatically loaded what you'll see at the hellkngiht loading screen. And then enjoy Doom 3 in an neverseen graphic and sound atmosphere.

Some examples what is changed!

The Weapons have the best textures you've ever seen.
All Weapons have got Real Metal FX Effect. (Incredible)
The plasmaball morphs the world around on impact.
Metal and bottom reflects the Lights.
Parallax Mapping for better looking.
Realistic Weapon Sounds and lights.
Bloom Shader.

I've done a little bit by myself. i have tweaked some weapon modifications and tested it and i made some weaponlights (not something where yousay wow on the first look, it should be playeable for long time). I think now i have the best options, not much glow effects which bring downs the fps. All the others changes and modifications are made by others.

This is mod is marvellous indeed - nice look, ferocious monsters
(but i forgot to report back, alas)

By the way, dafama
Is it possible to change one thing ?

It's a little tedious to switch to flashlight and press r, inorder to turn on/off the weapons' lights. Maybe you can make us some kind of generic on/off button that works for all lights?

They are uploaded now, awaiting to be published, wait a little more...

There is already a generic way pressing reload in the flashlight weapon, when ther flashlight weapon is on the other weapons are off and at the inverse. smile

New Unpredictable and D3_intheDark updates comming soon...

New features for Unpredictable_D3 mods that are already implemented...:

-Now, i have changed the HUD for Unpredictable, only the weapons that have they're own GUI will show the ammo.

-Changed some HUD colors.

-Removed my added shakes in mg, cg, sh, dblsh, where too much before and eat too fps !

-I have changed the settings in Autoexec.cfg for r_brightness to users taste ( 1.375 looks best for me), r_gamma locked at 1.125, r_flareSize locked at 1.0 and r_lightScale locked at 2.0

-I have added all the latest features of my latest mods to Unpredictable, including latest shaders, latest A.I., latest continuous smoke in the weapons including flamethrower, now enhanced with better FX and causes more damage.

-NEW ALIEN/S idle radars sounds for bfg, pg and ft weapons.

-Made the pdas moveable.

-Added blue and green lights to pg, and bfg ammo respectively.

-I have made the zcommandos and zsecs less ressurrect chance and fixed some bugs.

-NEW F.E.A.R. alike muzzleflashes.

-Better NG shaders.

All this is already made.

And i have to add lights to all movable pdas, computers, notebooks, monitors and other objects.

New features for D3_intheDark mods that are already implemented...:

v2.7 - BASE & D3XP both versions. (Poltergeist special)

-Doors and similar opens and closes when they want.

-Better NG shaders.

-Fixed bugs on the chainsaw blood and light radius and click sound !

-All lights in the maps that have to be ON are ON now, but all they have shadows and some have bigger radius.

-NEW F.E.A.R. alike muzzleflashes.

-Auto Q4 style chaingun weapon.

-I have changed the settings in Autoexec.cfg for r_brightness to users taste ( 1.375 looks best for me), r_gamma locked at 1.125, r_flareSize locked at 1.0 and r_lightScale locked at 2.0

Help! When I change the Resolution or Anti-aliasing settings and I restart the game they change back! Can you give me instructions to set the Resolution to 1280 x 1024 and Anti-aliasing to x16? oh, by the way, I got a new card so your mods work now (8600 GT 512 MB GDDR2). It looks awesome!

Also, I have a suggestion. Do you think you could add Ungibbable by Junkguy and ShellStay by FireAza in the next release? I would greatly appreciate it! Maybe you could make blood and decals stay too...

1- Edit the Autoexec.cfg into the mod folder and change r_multisamples from 2 or 4 to 16 and change r_mode 5 to r_mode 7 or higher.

2- Mhhh, i will check this Ungibbable and ShellStay mods, but where can i found that ?
