Description:
Dafama2K7 is back once again to show his latest mod making/updating talents; He is still going strong, with no signs of taking a break; He just keeps cranking out some awesome mods, and this one is no different...

If you're in the market for some serious looking graphics, then this download is for you! Dafama2K7 makes his return, to provide a small update to the Next Generation Shaders (v1.2 | update) mod, which will bring some new eye candy to your Doom III gaming experience! Next Generation Shaders will push your copy of Doom beyond the limits for ATI and NVidia gfx cards with OpenGL v2.0 or higher.
    The changes in this version include:
    • Tweaked the NVidia version
    • Also tweaked the generic version, but not as much as the NVidia

    Why no v1.3, and whats changed?
      I do not believe v1.3 was a public release
    • Reduced the exaggerated tweaks a little. Now it's more realistic.

Next Generation Shaders v1.4 for Doom 3.




Enhanced_Shaders beyond the limits for ATI & NVidia gfx cards with OpenGL v2.0 or higher !

Try the kp_slash key to put the gfx modes to your taste (default is the best).


Thanks to TheRealSceneGraphManager for let me use they're Chromatic Shaders.
Thanks to Maha-X for the NEW techniques i used from him.

History...:

v1.4 - Especially bettered the NVidia version, far superior !!!
- Bettered also the generic version, but not that far as the NVidia one.

v1.3 - Reduced my exagerated tweakes a little. Now it's more realistic.

v1.2 - More metallic and less plastic light environment.

v1.1 - Some bugs fixed and added a better ambient light !

v1.0 - Initial release.

The NG shaders are even better than what shown on the screenshots.

Specially try the NVidia version pressing the kp_slash key combo (r_testARBProgram 1).

I beg to differ, this is perfict!!

but i got a few problems. instead of an explosion, i get this weird orb

Prey and Quake 4 uses the same D3 engine (IdTech4), but a newer different for everyone versions that updates many things like BLOOM on Prey, better MP features on Q4 and specially HIGHER RESOLUTION TEXTURES (2048) on Prey, while in Doom 3 the highest is 1024 and more or less the same on Q4.

So taking a mod that uses a good Bloom like Denton's or Maha-X or even but not as good Gyppi's one + my 1024x forced highres textures mod + latest preferred shaders can do the trick.

And i use in all my shaders the best things from Prey and Q4 and D3 mixed in, there is very little difference, but the textures... If someone can make a revised 2048 real highres textures...

Also using mods by TheRealSceneGraphManager helps a lot to keep this game at the highest level 2008 standards.

This and that D3 engine (IdTech4) is the BEST, if only someone would be able to fix the physic engine bugs, the too blacky shadows and a better A.I., he he, and an elephant flying around the room ! big grin

I have now found a way and already enhanced all the shaders, including NG, Parallax, Relief, BHNG, BH_mod, etc..., now specially focused on ATI/Generic, but not limited to. Better lightning, metallic effect !

how do you get this to work?
i have it in both my base and d3xp folders
etc, nothing shows up or happens in game..
or in the mods menu

Have to be installed doing this...:

1- Open the .zip file with winZIP or winRAR or similar program and copy the folder contained into that .zip file into the Doom 3 root directory.

2- Start Doom3 and select the NG_shaders mod from the mods list.
