Description:

My first single player map for Doom3. This map has been more for learning
the Doom3 engine and basically in the end a bit of a showcase for my model,
the Shambler which you will fight in this map.

You need the "obihb_shambler.pk4" file to play this map. Without this file
the map will not work properly.

To run this map bring down the console and type "map obihb/obihb01/obihb01.map".

How does this level work I downloaded it and put it in my doom3/base directory like I do other pk4 files but nothing happened it said the map couldn't be found could someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong I don't want to redownload this until I know for certain how to run it. Thanks,Tom

Read the description.

The shambler from Quake is in this map? Did he get updated at all, more polys and stuff??

I've got to give credit to this one!!!! OMG!! the best SP I've come across!!! intro animation was cool, great limitation on guns, monsters spawn about right and the Shambler was awesome. All u need are new sounds for Shambler and Doom 3 just got one brand new monster woooo.........

i figured this out open up the console and type "spawn monster_shambler" without the quotes, thats to spawn the shambler and type "spawn monster_shambler_dark"
that spawns another version of the shambler. Two Thumbs Up!

I put both the shambler pk 4 file in the folder doom3/base and the map pk 4 file in the same folder what am I doing wrong I even went to the console and typed in the map name no go what do I do to get it to work

Make sure you type in the map name correctly. It's the name in the readme not the name of the pk4 file. You should put this in your console:

map obihb/obihb01/obihb01.map

By the way this is probably the best, or one of the best Doom III maps I've played. It knows not to go overboard. It's simple, there's nothing too fancy and there aren't too many enemies. The use of cutscenes is excellent, and the difficulty is almost perfect. Some of the AI is a bit suspect, but this proved to help me out in a tricky spot so I'm not complaining. The level is well designed and pretty scary, and the work on the Shambler at the end is excellent. I played it through to completion and can't wait for the next part, 9/10 from me.
