5 minute video on how to optimize a map with Caulking and Structural/Detail brushes.

The computer, looking through your view, can see through Detail brushes even if you cannot and will render the objects on the other side until the computer runs into another Structural brush in the same view. To improve performance, set up Structural brushes to block rendering beyond the Structural brush but make a brush a Detail, if the brush does not need to block the rendering of other items.
