Description: Rotoscope/Adult Cartoon like shading for vanilla Doom3 v1.3
v1.1 changes:
-removed a bug that introduced random noise in certain situations
-enhanced edge outlines
-key gui components are easier to read

requirements:
-a Windows based PC capable to run standard Doom3 fluently.
-Doom3 full version 1.3
To run:
- copy archive contents into Doom3 base folder
- run by double clicking rotoscope.bat

Rotoscope/Adult Cartoon like shading for vanilla Doom3 v1.3

Credits:

- Edge detection algorithm was adopted from sobel filter by
John Rittenhouse.
- The steep edge cartoon effect was inspired by the black-
white shader from XPac_27.
- SDK changes to render the effect on all guis were
originally posted by leahcim.

Deathmonkey7 From: Joined: August 8th, 2006 Posts: 4 | This mod is really awesome, makes it look very much like a professionally done comic book and it somehow actually fits with Doom 3. It's like a McFarlane comic or something.
Also, some tips to make it look the most like a comic for those of you who are using this mod:
Turn the graphics quality to low
Keep the resolution high
TURN OFF SPECULAR
and if you want it to be more like a cartoon than a comic book turn off bump mapping.

Man I'd love to try it out, but since this came out in 2006, I can see that it was not updated to 1.3.1 (obviously) |
mandatoryusername42 Joined: January 24th, 2008 Posts: 6 | I think I just found my new favorite mod. The only downer was that I had to uninstall and reinstall Doom 3, and then patch it up to 1.3. Most of the mods on this site don't seem to like 1.3.1, for some reason. |
