Zombies a bit too easy in Doom? Ever taken your time to slowly pull out the pistol to take down that zombie in the corridor because it saves you ammo?

NOT ANYMORE!

TRU ZOMBIE RESURRECT mod turns the tables around. Be afraid, be very afraid! They'll now get back up and chase you to hell!

Features:

- Zombies now randomly get up after being killed. They don't just respawn, they actually animate!
- Zombies get up time is random. Should I stay or should I move on?
- Zombies take a lot more damage to the body. Aim for the head!
- Zombies are no longer gibbed by your puny weapons. Better conserve that ammo!

GENERAL CHANGES:

- Expended projectile brass and debris now stay and do not dissapear.
- Blood and Gore now stay.
- Burnout delayed to 60 seconds.

Installation Instuctions:

1. Unzip the contents into the default Doom directory.
2. Run doom, click 'MODS' and choose this mod.
3. Play! (**IMPORTANT**: Some saves may revert to the map beginning. Best to load from autosave to avoid crashes.)

**COMPATIBILITY**
Not a definitive list:

- Ultra Enhanced Quality Mod
- Junkguy Parrallex Mod

**BUGS/LIMITATIONS**

- Doors still gib zombies. Looking for workaround.
- Occasional load error.As mentioned, best to use autosave rather than any other saves.
- When a Zombie 'resurrects' there will be a slight 'shift' in the body placement. That is due to animation kicking in.
- These zombies to not respawn as no suitable animation 'Zombie morgue, Bernie, Sawyer'
- Zombies with flashlights/wrenches get back up without the weapon. Wrench hit sounds still play, and they'll drop another one if they die.
- Green Maint zombie spawns with his head between his ass. No idea why, getup animations are present.

First Version.

NOTES: I have added comments to the files where I have made changes so others may learn the same way as I did. The reason why I disabled all gibbing is that if a monster is gibbed, sometimes Doom doesn't realise that the zombie is no longer there, and plays the getup animations anyways, this being obviously unrealistic.

is it possible to track the coordinates of the zombie even though it is dead so it can actually resurrect from where the corpse is?

If only you could do it so only really powerful weapons(Plasma gun, bfg, Rokkit, CHAINSAW smile gibbed the bodies.

Oh man. I thought that this was going to be in the game by default after checking out a bit of demo software, that was "released" a while back, which I shall not specify here out of respect for rule 3. ;-)

Wow... This makes the early stages of the game VERY hard. It got to the point were zombies would take 2-4 shotgun blasts to defeat.

Now, me, I've always been taught to shoot at the central body mass of an enemy to increase hit percentage, so When I was putting two mags of pistol rounds into a zombie's chest, I thought something had gone very, very wrong. Took me a little while to figure out you had to shoot them in the head.
The 'special' zombies- Bernie and the Mourge Body, etc.. were extremely difficult, especially with a cloud of other zombies following you around.

I ran out of ammo in the third chapther I think...

Very nice, I think, very difficult. I look forward to seeing other mods by you.

dude your mod takes the P0S default zombies and makes them Orgasmicly terrifying.
You think you killed it and then turn around after getting hurt and bam! its back.
Just an idea could you make the bullet casings not stay and all of the other monsters body dissapate sooner?
but keep on moddin!! cant wait for more mods from ya to.

Eh, I didn't really like this mod.
The zombies just took too much ammo to fall down, and you'd have to knock them down at least 10 times before they stay down. Other zombies just didn't get back up even once.
Zombies shouldn't get back up more than two or three times, it stops being creepy and starts being a boring chore.
