While playing Doom3 and running through the countless rooms and hallways of the UAC mars facilaty, you will encounter countless numbers of wreakless monsters. Ranging from "simple" Zombies to very dangerous Hellknights.
Zombies

Zombies are the monsters you will encounter most. They come in all shapes, colors and sizes. Some wear a labcoat, some used to be maintanance staff. Some hold a torch and some a Chainsaw. YOu don't realy need to be too scared by zombies, they usualy only walk very slowly towards you and then hit you. With a few shots to the head, you can bring them all back to where they belong. Hell!
Fat Zombies

Also see Zombies. These are just a little tougher and stronger. But not realy more dangerous.
Zsecs

You will encounter quite a few former security officers while playing Doom³. They all used to be like you, but now they sadly arn't. So dont shed any mercy when you take em out with a shotgun blast or a mashinegun clip. They are rather fast, shoot prety well and even hide when hit. So be aware! They also often come in pairs.
Imp

Another standard enemy you will encounter pretty early in the game. They are fast, and I mean fast, they can jump at you from far away and they wont let you get away. Apart from only hitting you when you are close, they will also through yellow energy balls, that can realy harm your health. Keep your shotgun ready when encountering these little buggers.
Pinky Demon

Ok these half mechanical huge doglike creatures called Pinky are dangerous! They are very strong and pretty fast. If you see one running towards you, you better get out of its way. They are also reasonably tough. So you will need quite a few shotgun shells to take them out. Take them out, before they take out you.
Commandos

These anoying buggers also used to work for the UAC and like many on that fatefull day turned to zombies. They usualy carry heavy gattling cannons and can thereby inflict alot of damage. Others dont have a gun, but a powerfull tentacle that can also kill in short range. Your best choice of defence is ither the mashinegun or the plasma gun.
Maggot

The maggot is an ugly little monster that has two heads and a very long tounge. This monster doesn't realy make too much damage, and isn't very tough ither. A nice shotgun shot to the head usualy is enough to take the maggot out.
Wraith

Wraiths aren't very strong, they don't do too much damage and can easily be killed with a shotgun. Their only advantage is that they can teleport.
Revenant

This bugger is realy tough and pretty strong. With two powerfull rocketlaunchers on its shoulders, it can inflict realy heavy damage, especialy as the rockets even home in on the player arround corners. Because the revenant is prety tough your standard equiped shotgun or mashinegun won't realy do to take him out, unless you want to loose all your ammo. So your best choice of weapon are either the plasmagun, the rocketlauncher or the soul cube.
Tick

Also see Trites. Pretty much the same only with a different head.
Trites

You should realy quickly get out your mashine gun or another fast weapon when you see trites running towards you. Usualy they come in little groups and they can be very anoying when jumping at you from all sides.
Archvile

The Archviles are probably the second most dangerous enemy you will encounter in the whole game. They constantly call imps and other demons to their side. They also through very powerfull balls of light and energy at you. Your weapons of choice should be plasmagun, BFG, rocketlauncher and soulcube. But remember quick reaction is needed here, because Archviles can take alot of hits before going down.
Mancobus

The mancobus is a mixture of a realy fat bloke, and an elephant. He has two very powerfull weapons on his arms, that can shot strong plasma projectiles, but these travel rather slowly, so that you can easily dodge them. Any weapon stronger than the plasmagun is good enough for this huge mountain of meat.
Hellknight

These are THE most daunting enemies in Doom³, they also come in different forms, but every form is very deadly to you if you arn't good enough. They are very strong and can hit you hard if you come to close, they will also try and bite your head of if you stand too close to them. They like the mancobus can though powerfull plasmacharges at their enemies. So beware of the hellknight. Best weapons of defence are probably the rocketlauncer, the BFG and the soulcube. But your best chance of sourvival is staing well out of their way . Good luck marine.
Cacodemon

The flying read ballon is also in Doom again. You will usualy find him in big rooms or outdoors. He shoots plasma projectiles, but these arn't very strong. But the cacodemon takes quite a bit of damage before going down.
Cherub

The Cherubs are very anoying little buggers. They constantly try to fly into you and then they make you bleed. Your standard shotgun is probably the best choice to take them out, but only in close range and remember to hit first time or they will start thrashing at you.
Lost Soul

Lost souls usualy like to attack in big groups, they are very anoying and can inflict heavy damage with their sharp teath. You should try and dodge out of their way if they come too close and in close range take out your shotgun. In long range you should best stick to fast automatic weapons like the mashine gun, the gattling gun or the plasma gun. A good sharpshooter is needed to take lost souls out!
Guardian

The guardian is a realy tough big guy. He can take alot of damage and can also give the player loads of damage. He is the guardian of the soulcube. Your best bet to get rid of him is the trustworthy rocketlauncher.
Guardian Seeker

The guardian seeker flys arround the guardian, it doesnt inflict any damage. And you will just need to shoot them down.
vagary

This boss isn't as strong as the others. She throws with spiked balls and can hit you bad. But you can easily take her out with the plasmagun or the shotgun. She isn't very tough so not much ammo needed.
