Here it is the 44th version of the Weekly Gamefront Network News Update, the news part of the update covers the news side of the Network and the Gamefront Main site over the past week. There has been a fair bit of news from the Main site including a lot of trailers, reviews, previews and a lot more. This week there are lots of trailers, as well as reviews and more. as you can tell there are lots of news from the GTA V trailer as well as the latest Call of Duty game this week as both of these have been in the news more than most things, although you can find more of this mentioned on the Gamefront News website - Here

Gamefront News: 10 First-Person Shooter Cliches We’re Sick Of (PIC)
From Wolfenstein, Doom, and Duke Nukem, to Battlefield, Call of Duty, and Gears of War, the shooter genre has evolved in many ways over the years. But in many other ways, we’re still seeing the same damn clichés. Subliminally included in the above list is the grungy brown color of modern FPS games.

I’ve been getting pretty hyped for Afterfall: InSanity, an indie survival horror title from Polish developer Intoxicate Studios. The trailers suggest an interesting mix of Dead Space’s aesthetic and third-person gameplay and Condemned: Criminal Origins’ melee fighting. There’s also some psychological thrills thrown in that reminds me of Alan Wake — in all, a big combination of great ideas.
In practice, InSanity seems to have a lot of promise, but it’s impossible to say whether it actually reaches its true potential. The preview build I got hold of put me through about three hours of the game from its start, and it got a healthy mix of all the cool things I was expecting to see: hallucinations, psychopaths and fire ax-versus-head entanglements. But in those three hours, the most interesting aspects — main character Albert Tokaj (pronounced “Toe-Kai”) questionable sanity — seemed to get the least amount of screen time.
InSanity takes place in a larger Afterfall universe in which nuclear war has relegated humans into living underground in giant complexes known as Shelters. Not unlike Fallout’s Vaults, the Shelter in which you find yourself at the outset of the game is a closed society, in which your character, Tokaj, is the local psychologist and pharmacologist. Unfortunately, the Shelter’s head-shrinker is having psychological troubles of his own, including vivid, paranoid dreams. When we first meet him, he’s nodding off during a therapy session with one of the Shelter’s residents, a woman who has never seen the Earth’s surface because she was born after the nuclear strikes.
Nightwing flies into action to protect Wayne Manor in Batman: Arkham City’s DLC package. Nightwing comes with two challenge maps — to give you a taste of brawling and sneaking, while also giving you access to the playable character of Nightwing that brings his own abilities and gadgets to the table. Play through the normal challenges with Nightwing to grab even more Riddler Trophies. Getting down his moves to unlock new medals isn’t so easy, that’s why Mitchell from the Game Front Youtube Channel is here to provide some helpful instruction in the art of crime-fighting.

Modern Warfare 3 is like four days away now, and yet we haven’t heard much about Call of Duty Elite for the PC yet. Why is that? Oh, because Elite won’t be ready for that platform when MW3 launches. Says Beachhead’s Chacko Sonny to One of Swords:
We’re as committed as ever to the PC, but the need to ensure a safe PC environment is greater than ever. It’s really extensive. We need more time to get there, so Elite on PC will not launch on Day 1.
The issue here is that the PC is an insecure platform. Without a central, trusted resource for stats, a lot of our competition features become unfair. We can’t give away prizes when people can easily cheat their stats. Leaderboards are less fun when a lot of the users are there unfairly.
Project director Noah Heller also said that Elite will be entirely free on PC, but there’s a sad trombone reason for that.
Not being able to trust stats is a big problem for our design. Because of this, we had to re-imagine Elite for PC. Elite for PC will be about access to your own stats, or those of your friends. Basically establishing a circle of trust. And because it will have some reduced functionality, it will be free for everyone.
Battlefield 3 sold five million in the first week, and EA is anticipating holding on to many of those gamers even after the launch of the much anticipated Modern Warfare 3 next week. Says Patrick Soderlund to IGN:
The holiday season is clearly very competitive, as we know,” he said. “We all respect what Call of Duty brings and what they’re going to come with, and I think that we have an industry-leading multiplayer game that will make people want to stay with us, frankly.
If you look at all the reviews that we’ve gotten, not a single one that I’ve seen has been negative towards the multiplayer. In fact, many state that the multiplayer is the multiplayer experience to have, the best in the world. And if I can continue to harness that and work on improving that and give the consumers more of that, then hopefully they’re going to feel loyal to us and stay.
It’s going to be an interesting race between the two, certainly, but I don’t feel comfortable calling it one way or the other until we see how MW3′s launch goes. Anything could happen at this point. The possibilities are endless.
It’s been five years, but a mod for the original Mount and Blade that turns it into Middle Earth is finally complete.
Called “The Last Days (of the Third Age of Middle Earth),” it’s the latest version of a mod that was released years ago to turn Mount and Blade into Lord of the Rings. It lets you command various armies of Middle Earth and reworks lots of the graphics and armor sets to give the aesthetic of armies of Elves, Men and Mordor.
When Grand Theft Auto V was announced, the news triggered rampant speculation. Would the game sell 25 million copies, as some people claimed? Where would it be set? How would it continue to improve on a franchise with such a long and distinguished history? Without knowing anything about the game, we published a list: “5 Things We Want from GTA V.” Now that there’s a trailer out, we can compare our expectations with reality.
Update: Possible Release Date?
At one point in the trailer, you see a man pounding a “For Sale” sign into the grass in front of a house. Painted on the curb is the address “2405.” As detailed by GameFront’s Ross Lincoln in his post on the possible GTA V release date, Rockstar could indeed be hinting at something, due to their preference for European-style dates (dd/mm/yy).
Leave it to our awesome readers to notice something even we missed.
Obviously, the whole gaming world has been poring over the just-released GTA V trailer, trying to glean as much about the game as we can with such limited information. We posted our own analysis of the trailer too, and commenter Jonathan noted “when he puts up the for sale sign it says 2405 which might be the release date”.

You know that first batch of Gears of War 3 DLC you downloaded the other day with your $30 Season Pass? Did you wonder why that download only racked up to a couple of megabytes? That’s because you already have that content — it’s on the Gears 3 disc you purchased in the store.
Gears 3 players all over the Internet are pretty incensed by the fact that the DLC they paid for isn’t DLC at all, necessarily — what you downloaded from Xbox Live was an unlock code, essentially, and the Horde Command Pack DLC is already stored on Gears 3 discs players bought at retail. Rod Fergusson, Epic Games’ executive producer, doesn’t see a problem with that. He told Kotaku in an interview that the disc isn’t the game, but rather, the delivery system for receiving the game.
See, what happened was, Gears 3 got pushed back from its spring release date. When that happened, the devs over at Epic were already putting in the time on its various DLC packages, since no game is released today that’s complete when you buy it. By the time Gears 3 was released back in September, Epic figured they’d just slap the Horde Command Pack on the disc and let users unlock it when they purchased the DLC — no muss, no fuss. They didn’t even try to hide it, Fergusson said; some other studios or publishers use the same trick, but they’ll throw a digital video or something else in the download file in order to pass it off as DLC-sized.
Have you enjoyed Fallout: New Vegas? You’re not alone – the game sold 5 million copies, netting Bethesda and Obsidian Entertainment more than 300 mil. Which is something like 4 billion bottle caps, and that’s a lot of money! But perhaps you’re tired of having to waste storage space for all the DLC. You’re in luck, because the Fallout:New Vegas Ultimate Edition has just been announced via a press release.
The Ultimate Edition will contain all of the game’s DLC – Dead Money, Honest Hearts, Old World Blues, Lonesome Road, Courier’s Stash and Gun Runners’ Arsenal. But it’s also coming with a few new goodies to trick convince people who might have already purchased the game to pick it up, like expanded versions of settings from DLC and the main game, including Zion National Park and the Sierre Madre casino, and an increase in the level cap to 50. Good times, good times.
The Fallout: New Vegas Ultimate Edition drops February 7th, 2012, giving you just under month to play before Mass Effect 3 comes out and you never think about it again. More information available at the official site. And because you’ve all been good, here’s a look at the official box art, in full:
Richard “Lord British” Garriott is the guy who birthed the Ultima series, and subsequently 1997′s Ultima Online, what some consider the grandaddy of all MMORPGs. Game Front writer CJ Miozzi tells me Garriott coined the term “MMORPG.” CJ has a startlingly deep voice, but I trust him.
Garriott has worked at a bunch of places (EA, NCSoft), but these days he’s at Portalarium, a development company he founded in 2009 for the purpose of manufacturing “online social games, virtual worlds and related services and products.”
Anyway, he has some stuff to say about big(ger) companies and their inability to adapt to modern trends and stay hip, which sounds like a real thing that definitely happens. Here’s what he said about EA and Blizzard in an interview with IndustryGamers:
The only reason Zynga exists is because people like EA, people like Blizzard, failed to step in. And so each of these major upheavals allows new, major corporations to come in and fill that space, which I think is to the great detriment, and then leaves the big companies of the previous iteration actually trying to catch up. And so I think that the challenge for Blizzard, when you are that good, when you’re making that much money, when you’re that much on top of your game, in the current era, it’s actually fairly difficult to spend money towards things that seem to not be as profitable, that people don’t understand as well and that you don’t imagine could possibly beat how well you’re doing at the top of your game in the current era. And so that I think is a risk for anyone, including Blizzard, that they will elect not to tackle that one, because they don’t see that it’s important and relevant.
This year, the Gears of War 3 team at Epic are going to be giving thanks on Thanksgiving by giving us all a free map pack. Called the Versus Booster Map Pack,” this pack will include five maps for you to play some crazy competitive multiplayer against your friends on. Two of the maps will be Gears 1 redubs, and the other three will be from the briefly delayed Horde Command Pack, which you can also buy today.
Feeling like you’re being screwed by this? Don’t. If you pay money for those maps, you get skins and new Horde fortifications and stuff, too! Yeah! Also, the Horde Command Pack unlocks the maps for Horde, and the Versus Booster Pack unlocks them for competition. So they’re different.
What sucks about this, though, is that the Xbox Live people are going to have to work on Thanksgiving! Awwwwwwww. I guess they have less to be thankful about.
Rockstar Games has grown up. Grand Theft Auto IV was the first clue that the studio once known for shock humor and excessive violence had done some maturing and was interested in exploring more serious themes as opposed to providing gratification for our animal instincts. To some, this was heralded as a bold new direction, while others felt it betrayed the roots of the series. Now, with Rockstar revealing Grand Theft Auto V, the same worries that GTA is too “tame” have surfaced.
Grand Theft Auto IV was a startling change in direction for the series. While there was still an element of ribald humor, a lot of the satire grew less outrageous and sometimes bordered on biting commentary more than attempts at lighthearted amusement. The main story was a lot darker than we’d been used to — grinning psychopaths and fun-loving bangers were traded out for noble immigrants trying to stay clean in a sleazy underworld of corruption. Funny incidents involving Scottish glam rock stars were replaced with rescue missions involving family members. Even the sandbox violence had been toned down, as protagonist Niko Bellic rarely delivered fatal blows to characters — animations would show them wounded rather than dead. The game went out of its way to make a less sociopathic hero in a less funny world.
Grand Theft Auto V’s trailer seems to tell a story about a former criminal getting sucked back into a world of crime. Like Grand Theft Auto IV before it, early indications would appear to show that Rockstar’s latest will focus on social commentary and a gritty plot with a more serious edge than last generation’s collection of games. The question is — is this a bad thing? Has Rockstar undone the greatness of the “GTA III” trilogy by making less infantile games? Is a darker tone indication that the series has gone soft? Is it, as one of my friends called it, tame in comparison to what it once was?
Hard Reset is a good game, but after like five hours you’re pretty much done with it forever. OR SO WE THOUGHT. It turns out that’s not the case, because Hard Reset is getting a new survival mode in update 1.2 that will pit you against waves of robotic baddies until you eventually just die already. Sounds like a party.
In addition to that, update 1.2 will add NVIDIA 3D Vision support for the game, which will make the giant robots you fight that much more personally intimidating.
So there’s two reasons for you to go back and play this game some more.
Activision is about to loose Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 upon the world. Undoubtedly it will be huge on every platform. But of late, one platform above all others has seemed like a steaming pile of cow dung inconveniently placed beside a delicious picnic — the PC. For some reason, the last few months have seen some of the most godawful PC launches possibly ever. Certainly since last year.
Now, we don’t want to call out anybody in particular, because I’m sure the people who worked on RAGE and Battlefield 3 are nice folks. We’ve just collected a few Post-It-style notes for the folks over at Infinity Ward, Sledgehammer and Activision based on some … missteps of their fellow AAA game developers of late. We don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings, so hopefully these slightly passive-aggressive notes will help the MW3 crew avoid some of the pitfalls of recent horrific PC launches.
UPDATE: If you have a legit MW3 copy, Robert Bowling says you won’t get banned. Stephen Toulouse tweeted this earlier, reversing his original you’ll-get-banned statement: “hey gang, as @fourzerotwo mentioned today on @gamespot, no plans to ban legit MW3 copies, but wait til Tuesday to play with everybody.”
UPDATE(?): MCV’s screenshot of the winning bid (embedded below) shows the estimated delivery time as “3-4 business days,” which paints this whole thing in a different, sadder light. That would mean the $1,725 copy of MW3 could quite possibly arrive on or after 11/08/11, the game’s official launch. But tell us if that’s wrong. We hope that’s wrong. Imagine spending that much and getting the game after everyone else who paid $60…
I’d spend a little more for an early copy of a game I really wanted. Wouldn’t you?
Skyrim, for example–I could see myself dropping, oh I don’t know, maybe $100 for an early leaked copy. It would be impulsive, I’d probably regret it, but for a few good days there I’d be in love with the decision.
Let’s kick it up a notch: how about $1,725 for an early copy of Modern Warfare 3, a mere 78 hours ahead of the game’s official launch? Think it over for a moment.
You wouldn’t? I wouldn’t either. That’s good. It means you and I are pretty sane people, with decent senses of value and a respect for money.
But this happened yesterday. Someone bought a leaked copy of MW3 on eBay yesterday for that insane price, after 88 bids. This whole thing started earlier this week when a Kmart in Tampa, Florida accidentally broke the street date and put the game on shelves early. Some industrious Floridians snatched up a bunch of copies and put them up on eBay, which is exactly what you or I or any sane person would do–to prey on the insane people who would pay this.
According to Wedbush Morgan’s Michael Pachter, Modern Warfare 3 will generate $1.1 billion in its first six weeks.
Pachter suggested the latest installment in the Call of Duty franchise will sell 10 percent more than Black Ops, and that the Call of Duty Elite premium service could earn Activision up to 4 million subscribers by the end of the year.
Good for Activision. No one deserves it more. It just goes to show, when you truly care about your user base, when you focus all your efforts on creating a quality product, regardless of how long it takes, the money will come.
In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, there was a level called “No Russian” in which players took on the role of an undercover American operative and then proceeded to help terrorists massacre a bunch of civilians in an airport, the goal of which was to start World War III. You weren’t forced to blast civilians, but you could if you wanted to.
It took a while, but eventually the controversy showed up around the scene — basically around the time that some broadcast news clown (Fox News) figured out it was in the game.

Naughty Dog designer Richard LeMarchand thinks the PS3 hasn’t yet been pushed to the limit, telling Eurogamer that the “PS3 still has a lot of mileage in it.”
It now becomes a question of: how do we optimise those processing jobs that we send to the Cell processor; what kinds of things to choose to send to the Cell as opposed to the graphics processor; what different tricky ways can we find to get even more out of the system?
That’s tech speak I won’t even pretend to understand, but I’ll just assume he knows what he’s talking about.
You know, I often think that I should try my hand at working on games rather than simply writing about them, and then somebody says something like this and I become totally discouraged. Oh well.
Naughty Dog’s latest effort, Uncharted 3, optimized the processes quite well, earning a 92/100 from us.

Midweek Madness is upon us once again, and this week the deal is 50% off Bastion, that “decent” title with the dynamic narration that everyone loves so much. For $7.49 it feels like it’s worth a shot. I feel so strongly about that, in fact, that I went ahead and bought it for myself. Seriously, I just did that. I’m not saying you should, though, since I haven’t played it. You can make up your own damn mind for all I care.
Obsidian’s Feargus Urquhart had some strong words for game developers who seek to curb sales of used games by requiring the purchase of online passes to access content (ala the Cerberus Network in Mass Effect 2). Speaking to Gamespot, the guy leading the makers of Fallout: New Vegas very frankly called that tactic a gimmick, arguing that there are better ways to encourage people purchase – and keep – new games.
[O]ne of the recent issues is not putting the full game in the package and requiring downloadable content to move on. Also, including DLC in the package that will have to be repurchased for secondhand buyers. I think you have to go in and forget those gimmicks, and say, “How do I make them want to keep the game on the shelf?” I think each genre has a way to do it. Battlefield and Call of Duty have it in multiplayer with maps, rankings, leveling up, and unlocks. There are different things, but the idea is making people feel, “I want to keep on playing it.”
He specifically singled out games like Knights of the Old Republic, which offer Jedi or Sith plot paths, as a way to accomplish this. Needless to say, the whole interview is fascinating and well-worth a full read.
We’re less than two weeks from the release of Saints Row: The Third, and as usual, we’re suggesting you play the PC version. Why?
Well for starters, there’s the awesome Saints Video Record Mode. This allows you to record all your mayhem and destruction to show to your friends. Seriously, what could be better than that? You’ll also get free TF2 goodies, and ton of PC features supported.
For example, SR3 supports both SLI and Crossfire. For the more tech savvy among you, you’ll also get support for advanced depth of field, reflections, and ambient occlusion quality. AMD Eyefinity is supported, as well as DirectX 9, 10, and 11.

UPDATE: Firefly Studios released a patch for Stronghold 3 as this article was being published. It adds an option to speed up gameplay, and promises to correct the problems with unit selection and AI. While this does not excuse the unfinished state the game was released in, or affect its final score, those still interested in purchasing the game after reading the below review should take these changes into account.
Even when the design of a game goes horribly wrong, you expect some things to come out unscathed. The numbers, for instance. As long as the developers can handle some simple math, the software should be able to take care of the rest.
Stronghold 3 is a game about building castles. To build castles, you need stone, painstakingly harvested. Throw down one end of a mighty wall, drag the the mouse to lengthen it, and a counter will appear, showing how much stone you have, and how much the wall will cost.
I had 60 stone. I wanted to build a 60-stone wall. I clicked and clicked. And there was the counter, reading “60/60,” but with the first number in rage-inducing red. In Stronghold 3, you need 61 stone to build a 60-stone wall. It doesn’t even get the numbers right.

Yesterday the much-anticipated release of the first Grand Theft Auto V trailer had the gaming world abuzz. Hot on the heels of that, Rockstar has released their official announcement of the game. Yeah, it seems a bit backward, but what can you do?
The announcement confirms what we thought yesterday, that the game is set in Los Santos, the GTA world’s version of Los Angeles. Here’s what Rockstar had to say.
Developed by series creator Rockstar North, Grand Theft Auto V heads to the city of Los Santos and surrounding hills, countryside and beaches in the largest and most ambitious game Rockstar has yet created.
A bold new direction in open-world freedom, storytelling, mission-based gameplay and online multiplayer, Grand Theft Auto V focuses on the pursuit of the almighty dollar in a re-imagined, present day Southern California.

Deceptively simple, brilliantly random and beautifully cheap, The Binding of Isaac is a must-purchase for fans of the rogue-like genre and classics like The Legend of Zelda’s turn on the Nintendo Entertainment System. It’s weird and creepy and disturbing, and that makes it great.

Born of the minds of Edmund McMillan, a dev from Team Meat who worked on Super Meat Boy, and Florian Himsl, The Binding of Isaac has an interesting pedigree and an even more interesting premise. The title refers to a Bible story, and the story of the game finds Isaac, a young boy, being chased by his murderous mother who has been commanded by God to sacrifice the boy. In the last moments before his mom can murder him, though, Isaac finds a hidden trap door in his bedroom and escapes into the basement of his house.
With today’s release of Uncharted 3, we decided to take a look back at a few of the major titles throughout the history of console adventure games to both reminisce at simpler times and laugh at how silly those pixels looked. Egad, how can we have ever found that polygonal man-with-boobs hot?
Naughty Dog’s Amy Hennig says the Uncharted games are linear for a reason. Would you listen to her explanation (that she gave to GameTrailers)?
It’s about having a very clear, linear story arc that doesn’t allow for a lot of the dilution that is created by player choice in some cases. We always call it ‘wide linear’ – within the path that we give, you have a lot of choice within it, it’s not just hit this button, and this button, and this button. But we need that authorial control over the story to do what we’re doing,
That’s what you call making the case for linearity.
The linearity of Uncharted 3 certainly didn’t hurt our rating of it. Check out our 90/100 review.
In a blog post on the official Saints Row site, the folks at Volition remind us once again that the PC version of Saints Row: The Third is going to be much better than the PC version of Saints Row 2.
As many of our PC fans are probably aware, the Saints Row 2 port on PC could’ve been a lot better. With Saints Row: The Third though, we’ve taken all of the development of the PC version in-house, so that the PC version will be at the same level of playability as the console versions.

And they’re going to bribe you into liking it, because on Steam you’ll be able to record videos of you doing weird things and get free Team Fortress bobblehead masks to wear as you terrorize the city. Sounds fantastic!
There’s a whole new game mode coming in Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine‘s next DLC pack, which THQ announced on its quarterly earnings call will be available in December.
The new Exterminus game mode is called “Chaos Unleashed,” and it’ll see Chaos Marines fighting orks. Oh, and Imperial guards. But (I imagine), mostly orks, because f–k those guys.
According to VG247‘s story, the DLC will include a bunch of other cool stuff, including three new maps (Aquila Canyon, Habs Ablaze, and Station Tertius), new co-op arenas with more boss rounds and new enemy units, a new (free) Capture the Flag mode (because what’s a shooter without one) and even new skins for Alpha Legion, Salamanders, Legion of the Damned and Blood Angel. Yikes.
It’s even pretty cheap, too, running you just $7.99 on Steam and the Playstation Network, or 800 Microsoft Points on Xbox Live. And don’t forget, the last co-op DLC drop is free.
The Uncharted series has made a habit of topping itself with every outing. No wonder, since we live on a pretty big planet with some pretty cool things to see. In Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, Nathan and co. went to the jungles of Central America and then a remote tropical island in the search for El Dorado. Along the way they came up against Nazi Zombies, years before COD: Black Ops. In Among Thieves, Nate broke into a museum in Istanbul, went to Borneo and ultimately made his way to the Himalayas in search of Shangri-la. Also, He fought yeti. Now with Drake’s Deception, we get London, a crusader castle in Syria, the Arabian Desert and a vast pirate fleet in the Indian Ocean while Nate looks for Iram of the pillars, the Islamic world’s version of Soddom and Gommorah (And possibly a real place!)
The thing all three games have in common is that instead of just making up some ridiculous, generic magical thingee, the artifacts and lost kingdoms Nate is looking for are based on actual myths and legends. Drawing from real world cultures allows the stories, much like the (good) Indiana Jones films, to have the flavor of reality without getting too bogged down by actual physics. It also means the chance to explore places based on real world locales, treating the gamer to some rather stunning recreations of Earth’s most amazing places.
It should come as no surprise that Naughty Dog are promising an inexhaustible stream of Uncharted Games. Great! I only just completed Uncharted 3 and I’m already dying for part 4. So where will Nate go next? That’s a question for the development team to answer, but that doesn’t mean we can’t have a little fun while we wait. So GameFront puts the question to you, o readers: Where should Nathan Drake travel next?
Casey Hudson has said that in Mass Effect 3 you won’t have any permanent squad members. What does that mean? He answers that question in the latest BioWare Pulse.
We don’t wanna say, “Yep, here’s all the characters who are permanent squad members,” because, first of all, it doesn’t make sense in a war story, it’s not true to the game, because some characters you might get, and some characters might die, and the discovery of how that’s going to work is so much a part of this story that we don’t wanna spoil that.

Grand Theft Auto San Andreas: GTA V Trailer is here and see for yourself!
Here it is the first official trailer for GTA V and avaliable in 720P HD as promised by Rockstar and they have delivered and wow would be an understatement for this one! This video shows the first look of GTA V. It looks like we are heading back to San Andreas or at least the Los Angeles based part of it and there look to be a lot more features than GTA IV hopefully as many or more than San Andreas though. Anyway why not have a look yourself at the trailer below .
October 25'th saw the release of 'Halo: Glasslands', a direct sequel to 'Ghosts of Onyx'. Wonder what became of Halsey and her entourage in the Micro-Dyson Sphere? What became of the Sangheili after the Human-Covanent War ended? What about the UNSC's civil war? All these questions and more will finally be answered!

"The story follows the events of Halo: Ghosts of Onyx, where Dr. Halsey, Chief Mendez along with a group of SPARTAN-IIs and SPARTAN-IIIs stranded in a massive Dyson sphere within a slipspace bubble. While they are exploring Onyx and attempting to find a way out, ONI director Admiral Margaret Parangosky assembles a black ops team known as Kilo-Five led by Captain Serin Osman, a failed SPARTAN-II candidate and a protege of Admiral Parangosky. The rest of his team consist of a SPARTAN-II, Naomi-010; three ODSTs, Vasily Beloi, Malcolm Geffen, and Lian Devereaux; and the AI construct Black-Box, accompanied by Evan Phillips, civilian academic fluent in the Sangheili language.
Kilo-Five is assigned on a covert mission to sow discord between disparate Sangheili factions by any means necessary, and to bring Dr. Halsey in once she has been located. Meanwhile in the Dyson sphere, Lucy-B091 discovers a local population of Huragok, who assist the human survivors in establishing communications with the ONI ships prowling Onyx's debris field. The shield world is eventually brought into normal space from its slipspace bubble by the Huragok, and Parangosky sends Kilo-Five inside to arrest Halsey, while ONI dispatches science teams to recover Forerunner technologies from the construct.
The story also explores the dissonance the Sangheili find themselves in after the collapse of the Covenant, as well as Sangheili-human relations after the war."

After playing Battlefield 3 Multiplayer for about a week, seeing what battles in Battlefield 3 looks like (about battles as themself and their progress), I don't even want to play Call Of Duty Multiplayer again. Sure, maybe someday I will play it again to look at it or to remember days when I played CoD 4 and CoD 6. Yes, CoD fans will say MW3 will be better and so on... But especially 64 player battles look great. That attmosphere, like you were in real battle, is great.
In my opinion, CoD MP is more like "private fights" - smaller territory and more simpe gun'n'run. BF3 MP - more like "open action" - when mostly 64 player servers are almost full and all kind of firepower is included.
I'm not joining any of sides now but title "People Will “Want To Stay With” Battlefield 3 Even After Modern Warfare 3′s Launch" says it. BF3 still offers different kind of firefights.
