Lightning Battle Submitted by ShadowMan Man After the most recent d3files poll, we decided to make a public status update on how Lightning Battle is coming. The first time a news article was posted on it, it was announced as a minimod. Things have really taken off since then. Three new maps are finished (two of which are chocked full of almost copyright-infringing goodness) and another one is in production. The rough edges are being worked out. Things are starting to come together for a public beta release. So what should you expect from it? Everything already advertised - Fast, hard-hitting, white-knuckled multiplayer. Weapons pack more ammo, feel more powerful, and the rocket launchers fire chainsaws. Jump tall buildings in a single bound and run as fast as a train. Share the pain on new multiplayer maps, including the Wild West, a stadium, and a recreation of the Lobby from The Matrix. All maps are super-optimized and use the absolute lowest possible number of lights to ensure it's always running at a high and smooth framerate. Get some friends together. With map and netcode optimization, you can cram more people into a server than ever before. Rock out. Featuring music by Enigma, Powerglove, and more. looks cool i want to see more whnen is done.

Any idea when this will be released? Will there be any monsters in this?

We'll get a beta out whenever we feel it's ready. For now it's just a multiplayer mod, but we're considering adding a singleplayer mode. Maybe. Eventually.
