  Mod Preview: DOOM 3 Ultima - Community

This is mod pack a bit like Maximum Graphic i.e. a customized compilation of older DOOM 3 mods. But unlike it, DOOM 3 Ultima doesn't mostly focus on bettering the game's graphics, it also includes a host of gameplay changes and additions: new weapons (Dual Pistols, Railgun and Icer), night vision, bullet tracers on the machine gun, built-in radar on the BFG and plasma gun, BFG vortex, laser sight on all weapons, cluster grenades and heat-seeking rockets ... Improved NPC AI as well as "spanking" new skins for both the monsters and the weapons are also on FireDemon666's features list.

This mod is expected to be released within 1~2 weeks, just in time for Christmas!

Icer: Another new weapon I have included into these images is called the icer. basically you are able to shoot balls of plasma from your hand. Now while your enemies may gib you have unlimited ammo with this one so I turned the damage down to 50. Think of it as dual pistols except with a much lower firerate (the ammunition and impact effects are identical to that of a plasma rifle). Please note just like the railgun there are no pickups for this weapon.

Marine buddy: This mod will allow you to have a marine that follows you around everywhere helping you to fight whatever crosses your path. Think of it as a sentry bot, only a marine. He will follow you until he is killed and attack (with a machinegun) any monster that comes into play. You may spawn as many as possible but keep two things in mind. The first thing is that while 1 marine is okay, the more you spawn, the more resources it will consume and the more your game might lag. The second thing to keep in mind is that while this is a nice feature, it could potentialy ruin the game's atmosphere for people who take it seriously.

BFG vortex: Basically what it does is instead of the BFG projectile traveling and destroying everything in its path, it will check to see if the monster(s) can be gibbed and if it has enough attack rate for a one hit kill. If everything checks out okay the BFG projectile will then actually stop in mid air and suck the monster into it like a vortex and within about 3 - 5 seconds will gib the monster(s) then explode. Please note that even when an emeny is actually in the vortex and are being ragdolled and screaming in horror, they can still fire at you and throw fire/plasma balls until they are fully gibbed.

    Cool my mod pack made the headlines. Just so everyone knows, I have not E-Mailed the authors of these mods asking for permission. The main reason for this is that I have used so many materials and I neglected to take names down along the way. However I am included the names that I do remember in the readme. If any of these mods are your work, be sure to contact me at firedemon666_xii(at)hotmail(dot)com so I can place your name in the credits. Currently mods I have permission for using are the BFG vortex (the code has been perfected and no longer sucks in boss monsters) and the spectre skin. Be sure to check out the thread at doom3world.org and check out the mod that I used the spectre skin for on the pinky. Basically when the pinky sustains any type of damage it will load the spectre skin and go predator style. Then right when It's in your face and begins attacking it will change back to normal. This process will continue until one of you is dead. Complete with sound effects. Mod pack is nearly finished. Just about finished pluggin in some materials from the Doom3X mod and have to email the guy for that one. Check out the doom3world link for a preview video of the spectre pinky in action!

    And BTW I saw the greentech mod before. Gonna go over it again to make sure there aren't any materials I'dlike to use from that one. And greentech is a pretty big mod. It's a 99% proability that it uses some of same shaders and materials my mod uses. These two will conflict with each other if that is the case =/
